Our Perfect 5-Day Andaman Honeymoon Itinerary
So you've picked Andaman for your honeymoon? Great choice! Here’s our tried-and-tested 5-day itinerary to help you balance romance, adventure, and pure relaxation.

So, you’ve decided on an Andaman honeymoon? First off, congratulations! And second, great choice. We’ve seen so many couples start their new lives together here, and there’s something truly special about the mix of sunny beaches, blue water, and quiet, star-lit evenings.
But planning can feel a little overwhelming. How many days do you need? Should you stay in Port Blair or head straight for the other islands? Don't worry, we've got you. This is our go-to 5-day plan that gives you the best of everything without feeling rushed. It’s the perfect blend of must-do activities and leaving enough room for, you know, just being together.
Your Day-by-Day Andaman Honeymoon Plan
This itinerary focuses on the classic Port Blair and Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) combo, which is perfect for first-timers and hits all the romantic highlights.
Day 1: Arrival in Port Blair & A Walk Through History
Welcome to the islands! Your flight will land at Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair. The first day is all about settling in. Grab a taxi, check into your hotel, and just take a breath. Don't try to cram too much in today; you've just been through a long journey.
Once you’re refreshed, your first stop should be the Cellular Jail. While it has a grim history, it’s a crucial part of our story. Walk through the corridors in the afternoon, and then stay for the Light and Sound Show in the evening. It’s a powerful, moving experience that tells the story of the freedom fighters who were held here. It’s a somber but important start to your trip, and it gives you a real appreciation for the peace you're about to experience.
Day 2: Ferry to Paradise (Havelock Island)
Today, the beach part of your honeymoon really begins! Head to the jetty in Port Blair to catch a morning ferry to Havelock Island (now officially Swaraj Dweep). You can choose between the government ferries or the faster, air-conditioned private catamarans. We recommend booking your tickets well in advance, especially during peak season (October to May), as they sell out fast.
The journey itself is beautiful, taking you across the open sea. Once you arrive in Havelock, check into your chosen stay—maybe a beautiful eco-resort or a beachfront cottage. After lunch, it’s time for the main event: Radhanagar Beach. It’s consistently voted one of the best beaches in Asia, and for good reason. The sand is powder-soft and the water is a perfect turquoise. Find a good spot and wait for the sunset. Trust us, it’s one you won’t forget.
Day 3: Underwater Wonders and Beach Bliss
This is your adventure day! Havelock is the hub for scuba diving in the Andamans. If you're not certified, you can sign up for a Discover Scuba Dive (DSD) with a PADI-certified dive school. An instructor will guide you through the whole process, and you’ll get to see the incredible coral reefs and marine life. It’s a magical experience to share.
If going deep isn't your thing, snorkeling is just as fun! A boat trip to Elephant Beach is a great option. The beach itself is famous for its calm, shallow waters, which are teeming with fish. You can also do other water sports here. I still remember the first time I saw a sea turtle glide by while snorkeling there – it was just breathtaking.
In the evening, arrange for a quiet, romantic dinner at your resort or one of the many lovely restaurants on the island.
Day 4: Back to Port Blair for Souvenirs
Enjoy a final, lazy breakfast in Havelock before catching a late morning or afternoon ferry back to Port Blair. Once you've checked back into your hotel, it's the perfect time to do some souvenir shopping. Head to Aberdeen Bazaar to pick up local handicrafts, pearl jewellery, or items made from bamboo and coconut shells.
For dinner, find a good restaurant that serves fresh seafood. It’s the best way to say goodbye to the islands’ culinary flavours. It's a more relaxed day, giving you time to wind down before your journey home.
Day 5: Departure
It’s time to head home. Depending on your flight schedule, you might have time for one last stroll or a final cup of chai. Head to the airport with a camera full of pictures and a heart full of memories.
A Few Extra Tips for Your Trip
- Book Ahead: We can't stress this enough. Book your flights, hotels, and inter-island ferries (especially private ones) at least 2-3 months in advance. Things fill up fast.
- Pack Smart: Bring light cotton clothes, swimwear, sunscreen (a must!), sunglasses, and a hat. Also, pack mosquito repellent for the evenings. Maybe toss in one or two dressier outfits for a nice dinner.
- Go Slow: This itinerary is a suggestion. If you find a beach you love, spend more time there! The point of a honeymoon is to relax and connect, not to tick off a checklist.
- Connectivity: Be prepared for limited mobile network and Wi-Fi. It’s getting better, but it’s not what you’re used to on the mainland. Think of it as a digital detox!
FAQs
Q: When is the best time for a honeymoon in Andaman? A: The peak season, from October to May, offers the best weather—sunny skies and calm seas, perfect for beaches and water sports. However, the monsoon season (June to September) can also be incredibly romantic, with lush green landscapes and fewer tourists, if you don't mind a bit of rain.
Q: Is 5 days enough for an Andaman honeymoon? A: Yes, 5 days is perfect for a classic trip covering Port Blair and Havelock without feeling rushed. If you wanted to include Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) or other places, you'd probably want to add another 2-3 days.
Q: What kind of budget should we plan for? A: It really varies. You can have a wonderful honeymoon on a modest budget by choosing guesthouses and government ferries, or you can go all out with luxury resorts and private cruises. The biggest costs are usually flights and accommodation, so how much you spend is largely up to the level of comfort you choose.
Q: What romantic activities can we do? A: Beyond the itinerary, consider a couple's massage at a spa, a private candlelight dinner on the beach (many resorts arrange this), or just finding a quiet spot on a beach like Radhanagar to watch the stars come out. The beauty of the islands is the best backdrop for romance.
