The route and what it costs
- Cab, jetty → Kalapathar one way: ₹700 – ₹900; return with wait ₹1,200 – ₹1,500
- Scooter is the better option here — ₹500 – ₹700 per day and the coastal road is easy
- Most Havelock resorts on the Kalapathar road are a 5–10 minute walk from the sand
- Combine with Radhanagar the same day: sunrise east, sunset west, one full-day cab

What Kalapathar is not
It is not a swimming beach and it has no facilities to speak of. Come for the first hour of the day, then go elsewhere. Anyone selling you a 'full day at Kalapathar' has never been there.

Can you swim at Kalapathar Beach?
Only wading. The shallows are rocky, there are no lifeguards, and currents pick up on the eastern side. Swim at Radhanagar instead.
How far is Kalapathar from Havelock jetty?
About 11 km, or 20 minutes by cab (₹700–₹900 one way) along the eastern coastal road.
