Port Blair after dark: where the parties actually are
An honest guide to Port Blair's current party scene — from Love Garden at Hotel Shompen to Drifters at Driftwood, Junglee Mirchi and Nimbu Pani, with shout-outs to the people who make these nights happen.

Port Blair after dark is small but spirited. A handful of lounges, pubs and roadside venues do the heavy lifting — and on weekends, especially Friday through Sunday in season (Oct–Apr), they actually pack out. Here's an honest, on-the-ground rundown of where the parties are right now, and who's running them.
🔥 Drifters Lounge Bar — Hotel Driftwood
The party. Currently ranked among the top pubs in Port Blair (Restaurant Guru #2 of 77) with a price band around ₹400–₹1,600 per person. This is where the dance floor actually moves — DJ sets, loud music, ladies' nights with free shots for ladies on select evenings, and a crowd that doesn't thin out till late. Walk in early on Fri/Sat or you'll be queueing.

🙌 Personal shout-out: Pushkar — a good friend of mine and the guy keeping Drifters' dance floor alive. If you walk in, tell him I sent you. Half the reason the place feels like a proper club night is the energy his crew brings. 💬 Message Pushkar on WhatsApp
🌶️🍋 Junglee Mirchi / Nimbu Pani Pub — Caddlegunj & Junglighat
Same team, two faces. Junglee Mirchi (NH-4, Caddlegunj) is the full combo — resort, multi-cuisine restaurant, pub and a small waterpark — about a 20–30 min drive from central Port Blair. Nimbu Pani Pub in Junglighat is the same crew's city-side outlet: lower-key, neighbourhood vibe, no pretension. Junglee Mirchi is great for groups doing a full day (afternoon swim → long lunch → pub night); Nimbu Pani is the honest local stop if you're closing out a Port Blair nightlife loop. The food at both is genuinely good — not an afterthought to the bar.

🙌 Personal shout-out: Vishnu — another good friend, running both Junglee Mirchi and Nimbu Pani and quietly building some of the warmest rooms in the city. The kind of host who remembers your drink the second time you walk in. Walk in, say my name. 💬 Message Vishnu on WhatsApp
🌅 Amaya Lounge — Sea Shell, Marine Hill
The rooftop. In-house bar on top of Sea Shell, Marine Hill with proper sea views, candle-lit tables and a small but solid menu (their seafood platter and flaming shooters do the heavy lifting). Best for couples and slow evenings when you want a view, not a dance floor.

🥃 Luxx Pub & Lounge — opp. Chinmaya Mission
The upmarket pub. Ranked #3 of 77 pubs & bars in Port Blair on Restaurant Guru, slightly higher price band (~₹940–₹2,400 per person) and a grill-leaning menu. Good middle-ground between Drifters' party energy and Love Garden's quiet — well-lit, well-stocked, decent for a longer sit-down evening.

🌴 Love Garden — Hotel Shompen
The classy one. An elegant lounge bar inside Hotel Shompen (Symphony Resorts) with live music most evenings, refreshing cocktails and that slow, candle-lit vibe you want when you're not in the mood to shout over a DJ. Great for couples and small groups easing into the night.

Before you head out — practical notes
- Dry days apply across the islands: 1st of every month, national holidays and election days, no alcohol service.
- Most venues wind down between 11:00 PM and 11:30 PM. Drifters typically stretches the latest.
- Carry photo ID — most bars check.
- Pre-book your ride back, especially from Caddlegunj. Autos and cabs get scarce after midnight.
